Strategic Partnerships & Business Development Lead
A Strategic Partnerships and Business Development Manager identifies, builds, and nurtures alliances with external organizations to achieve a company's strategic goals and drive growth. Key responsibilities include identifying mutually beneficial partnership opportunities, negotiating agreements, fostering strong relationships, and ensuring collaborations align with long-term business objectives.
Prospecting and Identification
- Research and identify potential partners whose products, services, or market access align with The Nod’s strategic objectives.
- Develop and maintain a structured pipeline of prospective partners with clear engagement strategies.
Sales Leadership
- Prospect, pitch, and close deals with diverse stakeholders, ensuring value creation and direct revenue generation for both The Nod and its partners.
- Build, mentor, and scale a sales force to drive sustained growth and partnership outcomes.
Relationship Cultivation
- Build and maintain strong, ongoing relationships with key stakeholders at partner organizations.
- Represent The Nod in external events, conferences, and meetings to pitch, network, and amplify partnership opportunities.
- Position The Nod as a trusted and credible partner in both local and international markets.
Negotiation and Contracts
- Negotiate terms for collaborations, joint ventures, or strategic alliances, and administer associated contracts and agreements.
- Draft and oversee contracts to ensure compliance with legal and financial requirements.
- Establish frameworks for performance evaluation and accountability within agreements.
Strategic Planning
- Develop strategies and define clear goals for partnerships that contribute to market expansion, revenue growth, and innovation.
- Contribute to long-term strategic planning by identifying emerging opportunities and risks in the partnerships landscape.
Collaboration and Alignment
- Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Community, Product/Programs, and Finance to ensure partnerships are successfully integrated and support the company’s overall mission and values.
- Oversee the full partnership lifecycle: from ideation, onboarding, activation, to evaluation and optimization.
- Create internal reporting structures to share partnership insights and progress with leadership.
Market Analysis
- Stay informed about market trends, competitive landscapes, and partnership innovations to identify new opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Use insights to identify opportunities for thought leadership and positioning The Nod at the forefront of partnership innovation.

Fund Development Specialist
A Fund Development Specialist supports the executive team to build the financial architecture for growth. They develop funding strategies, cultivate stakeholder relationships, and ensure all financial pursuits align with organizational objectives. They are the financial architect who bridge the worlds of venture capital, social impact investing, corporate partnerships, and philanthropic granting, translating The Nod's mission into compelling proposals for a wide range of funders.
Strategy & Revenue Generation
- Support the design and implemention of comprehensive funding and revenue plans to drive our mission of circulating $100M through Black-owned businesses.
- Develop and manage initiatives that drive sustainable revenue through our inclusive economic infrastructures and mission driven ecosystem, while simultanously providing funding support for the Executive team.
- Analyze trends in social impact investing, e-commerce, financial technology, and philanthropy to keep The Nod’s funding strategies competitive and innovative.
Fundraising & Partnership Development
- Support the executive team in identifying, cultivating, and securing capital from a wide range of sources, including social impact investors, venture capital, public and private grants, philanthropic donors, and corporate sponsors.
- Identify, build, and steward high-impact relationships with community stakeholders, Black-owned businesses, corporate partners, foundation program officers, and funders.
- Craft compelling and distinct materials tailored to different audiences, including investment decks, grant applications, business cases, and corporate partnership proposals.
- Support the executive team in negotiating funding agreements, grant contracts, and partnership terms in alignment with The Nod’s objectives.
Financial & Operational Management
- Create and monitor budgets, cash flow projections, and financial forecasts for various funding streams, ensuring fiscal stability and alignment with strategic goals.
- Track and report on funding results (e.g., capital raised, grants awarded, partnership ROI) and ensure all funds are allocated efficiently and in accordance with our strategic priorities and reporting requirements.
- Maintain robust systems for tracking stakeholder and funder interactions (CRM), managing grant calendars, and processing donations/investments.
Core Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
- 4–7 years of experience in fund development, capital raising, corporate finance, business development, or a related revenue-generation role with a proven track record.
- Demonstrable experience securing funds from diverse sources (e.g., experience in both grant writing and investor relations is a major asset).
Technical & Financial Acumen
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and forecasting skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially advanced Excel), CRM/pipeline tools, and financial/fundraising databases.
- Analytical mindset, comfortable working with ambiguity, and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Interpersonal & Communication Skills
- Excellent presentation, persuasive writing, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to articulate a powerful mission to different audiences.
- Experience with negotiations, term sheets, or contract management.

Community Engagement & Program Manager
A Community Engagement & Program Manager develops strategies to strengthen relationships, manages program implementation, and ensures initiatives are aligned with organizational objectives. They are the connector who listens deeply, translates insights into action, and builds trust between The Nod and its stakeholders.
Program Design & Delivery
- Lead the design, planning, and execution of The Nod’s community-facing programs, events, and initiatives.
- Develop and implement engagement strategies that increase participation in The Nod App, campaigns, and events.
- Ensure programs are inclusive, scalable, and tailored to the needs of diverse audiences.
Relationship Building
- Build and maintain strong relationships with business owners, community organizations, and partners.
- Represent The Nod at community events, conferences, and stakeholder meetings to strengthen visibility and trust.
- Act as a liaison between community voices and organizational leadership.
Project & Budget Management
- Manage program timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful execution.

Operations Manager
An Operations Manager oversees day-to-day business operations, designs standard operating procedures (SOPs), manages budgets and vendor relationships, and develops reporting structures that allow for data-driven decision-making. They are the problem-solver who turns complexity into clarity and ensures that The Nod operates with efficiency, accountability, and a focus on results.
Operational Management
- Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure seamless execution across programs, partnerships, and internal teams.
- Develop, document, and continuously improve internal processes and SOPs.
- Establish key operational metrics to track efficiency and organizational performance.
Financial Oversight
- Manage operational budgets, track expenses, and collaborate with Finance to ensure fiscal discipline.
